awesome
Life is a never-ending learning process and I have got alot alot to learn =) :
10 qualities of awesome people...
1) Accepting people for who they are
The awesome person understands that everyone is different and should be treated equally.
The next time you face someone who has a different upbringing or has an alternative perspective on life, do not be too quick to argue over contentious matters or cast preconceived notions. Embrace diversity and understand their points of view even though you may not agree. You do not have to be a yes man, but allowing differences to exist in your social circles will get you one step closer to the hearts of many and seal their approval.
2) Forgive when it's impossible to do so
It is difficult to let go of remarks and actions that are hurtful, but a sensible person recognises that all of us have faults and err one too many. In times where exacting revenge may be the best thing to do, forgiving and having the heart to stomach a person's flaws is a selfless trait because no one is perfect, as they say.
When someone clearly has committed an error, tough love may be a possible way of reaching out but take the liberty of letting the person know that it is all right to make mistakes as long as they are not repeated.
3) Recognises boundaries but dares to challenge
What makes a person different from others is his or her ability to understand rules and history but yet offer a new perspective on matters. Challenging authority or age-old perceptions can be just baseless noise if there is no appreciation for why things are the way they are. That, to us, is the hallmark of an awesome person.
4) A go-getter, not a quitter
No, an awesome person ain't just going to sit around wait for awesomeness to come to them. They go for it.
What is certain is that awesomeness is not attained without a little struggle and a lot of chasing. Start small by looking at things you have always wanted to achieve, even if it does seem like a long shot. Now, break that up into small, attainable steps and hope that Lady Luck casts its longing gaze on your newfound zest for ambition. Most importantly, do not stop at it because every small battle won is a step closer to awesomeness.
5) Always there whenever, wherever
At work, they never look unfazed and always seem to be able to do it all at once, at the same time. Amazingly they are always there if you need a helping hand. They most probably have the answers, too. Outside professional borders, they are great night owls, supper kakis and provide the shoulder or listening ear you badly need.
At the risk of sounding like an unfaltering robot, we must clarify that awesome people always have their own troubles to deal with. However, they are willing to put that aside to ensure their loved ones are safe and have their hearts in check. You don't have to be that selfless, but a little thought for others goes a long way in making you rad.
6) Great at multi-tasking
Life is super fast-paced now. Your email is flooded, your schedule is packed with coffee meetings and power lunches and let us not even get started on that monster to-do list clouding your thoughts.
You may want to do it all at once, at the same time. We will concur.
7) Independent-natured but part of the team
This is a trait that is not defined by you, but who you are with. If you are not leeching on your friends or family to help you out in every single task you have in life, then there is a high chance that you are bloody awesome by default. Of course a little help is nice, but dependency sets you up for disappointment when no one comes a-knocking.
However, the world is a weird place. No one likes an individualist, one who decides that no one else is part of his or her life. Being a team player is highly important and that means ensuring no one is left out and everyone has his or her time to shine.
8) Dreams big and never grows up
Just because you get older does not mean that it is a prerequisite to conform to society's boring lifestyle. Awesome people come up with crazy ideas and wacky executions because their inner child never left them. All that doodling on the walls with crayons has to bear fruit at some point in life, right?
9)Passionate and oh-so-driven
An awesome person never seems to run out of steam, no? The reason is a very simple one: he or she craves for life. The fact that you are not dead either means the powers that be have a perverse way of prolonging your suffering or you have a few more hours to do what you need to do.
It may be all lovey-dovey and sunshine but passion comes from a guttural want to make it happen for a purpose so strong that it cannot be ignored. It will be so infectious that you will want to do it over and over again.
10) Sulking is for weaklings
At the end of the day, an awesome person just has so much positivity that you wonder if the person has ever been knocked down by a hard truth or a disaster in his or her life.
It must be said that the world ain't full of roses and cute teddy bears. However, what keeps this person going is that no matter what the odds may be, there is always something good in life to focus on. It takes a ton of willpower to block out the negativity but once you do, you will realize that being sad and angry is just a waste of time when you can be grateful for what has been, what is and what may be.
